President of Republic Launches Vaccination against COVID-19

The first phase of the vaccination process has begun with medical staff of Nouakchott and will include the other regions of the country in the in the next few days.
In a speech on the occasion, the Minister of Health, Mr. Mohamed Nedhirou ould Hamed, said that the elderly, people with chronic diseases and vulnerable groups will benefit from this campaign, noting that this vaccine does not cause any negative complications on health.
He added that thanks to the strong friendship relations with the People’s Republic of China, Mauritania has recently received 50.000 doses of Chinese vaccine “Sinopharm”.
He announced that the ministry had already received 5000 doses of the US vaccine “Pfizer “from the brotherly state of the United Arab of Emirates.
He stressed that vaccination operation has begun with the medical staff because they are the front army in the fight against the pandemic and the most exposed to this ferocious virus.
He expressed his satisfaction about being among Professors N’Diay Amadou Mamadou , a well-known figure and specialist in COVID-19, and Mohamed Ould Bebeha, Anaesthetis. These two reference figures in this field are working to ensure the efficiency and safety of this vaccine.
