G-5 Sahel Defense College Delegation Visits Nouadhibou Free Zone

The president of the Nouadhibou Free Zone Authority (ZFN), Mr. Mohamed Ali Ould Sidi Mohamed, received, on Thursday, at the premises of the Nouadhibou Free Zone Authority, a delegation from the Defense College of the G-5 Sahel, led by its director, Major General Brahim Vall Ould Cheibani Ould Cheikh Ahmed.

The delegation listened to presentations on the free zone, its legal and institutional framework, projects completed, infrastructure and progress related to public revenue in Nouadhibou, in addition to challenges, cooperation, partnership, and result of the volume of investments implemented so far, which amount to 10 billion ouguiyas (MRU), allowing thus the creation of nearly 2000 direct jobs.

The director of the College appreciated the presentations which dealt with those various projects with a strategic dimension, stressing the importance of the transformations that the city has witnessed in the areas of infrastructure and city life, which have had positive effects on the city.

The delegation visited the Repos Bay Port and its various installations, where it listened to a presentation by the director general of this institution, Mr. Mohamed Vall Ould Youssef, which addressed the situation of this establishment and the reforms it has known recently in several areas, particularly in terms of human resources to speed up services, ensure its cleanliness and lighting and its profitability for users.

The delegation was accompanied, during these various visits, by the commander of the first military region, Colonel Ely Zayed M’barek El-Khair.
