OMVS 63rd Extraordinary Session Ends in Nouakchott
Nouakchott, 24/02/2021 The work of the 63rd extraordinary session of the Organization for the Development of the Senegal River (OMVS) ended, on Tuesday evening in Nouakchott.The session made it possible to review the situation of Manantali and Felou Operating Company (SEMAF SA), from its creation in 2014 to 2019 and that of 2020, the data of which were provided on a provisional basis, pending the official validation by the authorized bodies.
The final communique specifies that the Council of Ministers has also taken important measures concerning the governance of SEMAF-SA as well as its relations with the parent company, SOGEM. The communique particularly insisted on the implementation of periodic maintenance and upkeep plans for equipment entrusted to SEMAF-SA.
The delegations of the Republic of Guinea, the Republic of Mali, and the Republic of Senegal expressed their sincere thanks to His Excellency Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, and to the Government and people of Mauritania for the fraternal welcome they received.
