President of Republic Receives Special Envoy of Sri Lankan Counterpart

Upon his meeting with the President of the Republic, the Sri Lankan diplomat made a statement to the Mauritanian News Agency, in which he said that the purpose of his meeting with the President of the Republic is to inform His Excellency on the new investments that Sri Lanka intends to do in Africa.
He declared that Sri Lanka’s new policy is to focus on Africa due to its importance and the immense potentials it has. In this regard, “we want to invest in agriculture, mining, and energy”, he announced.
He added that the President of the Republic, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, provided him with important ideas and expressed Mauritania’s interest in taking advantage of Sri Lanka’s expertise. In this regard, “we are trying to bring investments to Mauritania”, he said.
The Sri Lankan special envoy stressed on the importance of uniting efforts and with Mauritania on the international scene to help both countries achieve their goals.
