President of Republic Arrives in N’Djamena

The President of the Republic, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazwani, President-in-office of G5 Sahel group, arrived, Sunday afternoon, in N’Djamena, to take part in the VII session of the G5 Sahel head of states’ conference, whose works will start Monday in the Chadian capital.

The President of the Republic and the first lady, Dr. Mariem Mint Dah, were received at the Airport Hassan Djamous by the Chadian president, Déby Itno and his wife, Mme Hinda Diby.

After listening to both national anthems and reviewing Chadian military detachments, which paid honors to the presidents, the President of the Republic greeted the chairman of the Chadian National Assembly, members of government, top figures in the state, the Mauritanian Ambassador in Chad, the executive secretary of the G5 Sahel and the commander of its joint force.

For his part, the Chadian president greeted the Mauritanian delegation accompanying the President of the Republique.

The representatives of the Mauritanian community in Chad gave a warm welcome to the president of the Republic and brandished the national flag.

On his way to his residence, the President of the Republic laid a wreath of roses on the tomb of the Unknown Soldier, as a commemoration in the memory of the Chadian soldiers killed in the line of duty, defending the dignity, honor, and unity of their country.
