Signing of Partnership Agreement between Nouakchott region and French Metz Metropole city

On 24 January, the President of Nouakchott Region, Ms. Fatima Mint Abdelmalek, signed via video communication technology, with the First Vice President of the city of Metz Metropole, Mr. Jean-Luc Bohl, and the delegated advisor in charge of decentralized cooperation, Mr. Pascal Huber, a comprehensive partnership agreement between the region and the French city of Metz Metropole.

This agreement, which is the result of cooperation between the authority and its partners in the city of Metz Metropole, comes in order to contribute to advancing the development process and strengthening partnership and cooperation between the two sides.

The President of the Nouakchott region explained, in a speech on the occasion, that this agreement aims to define the administrative and financial framework for decentralized partnership and cooperation between the two parties drawn up in the regional development plan.

She added that, through this agreement, many programs and projects will be implemented, particularly in the field of improving access to drinking water and identifying other development areas.

She expressed her thanks to the elected officials and technicians in the city of Metz Metropole for their cooperation and enthusiasm in preparing and signing this agreement in a short time.

On his part, the First Vice President of Metz Metropole valued this agreement, which reflects the depth of the existing cooperative relations between the Nouakchott region and Metz Metropole and other development partners.
