Incident of Our Innocent Citizens in Mali: President of Republic Condoles Victims Families and Affirms Care to Inflict Severe Punishment on Perpetrators

On 21 January, the President of the Republic, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, expressed his sincere condolences to the families of the victims of the tragic accident that killed seven of our innocent citizens in Mali.

This came in a statement from the Presidency of the Republic, the Mauritanian News Agency received a copy of it today, and this is the text:

“After the tragic accident that claimed the lives of seven of our innocent citizens in Malian, the President of the Republic, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, expressed to the families of the victims of this accident, all the residents of the region, and to all the Mauritanian people, the most sincere feelings of sympathy and sincere condolences, hoping from the Almighty God To wrap the victims in the vastness of his mercy.

His Excellency has dispatched the Minister of Islamic Affairs and Original Education, charged with a mission to the Presidency of the Republic, and the Wali of the Hodh Charghi, to the Adel Bagrou Bakro, to convey these condolences, the President of the Republic also assures the residents of the region and all citizens that preserving their security, safety, and tranquility takes precedence over all other considerations for him.

In the same context, His Excellency decided to send a mission that includes the ministers of foreign affairs, defense, interior, and the Director-General of National Security, to the Republic of Mali, to clarify the circumstances of this tragic accident, by opening an investigation into it that leads to determining responsibilities and imposing the most severe punishment on the perpetrators, as well as from in order to coordinate with the Malian authorities, to take the necessary measures to prevent the recurrence of such a tragic accident, and to ensure the security and safety of our citizens in Mali.
