Organizing the Periodic Meeting of Border Military Regions Leaders in Mauritania, Senegal, and Mali

The activities of the annual tripartite periodic forum of the leaders of the military regions and the security and paramilitary forces of the border regions in Mauritania, Senegal, and Mali kicked off Wednesday in Selibaby.

The two-day meeting will discuss common issues of a security dimension, such as cross-border crime, drug control, information exchange, updating immigration laws, and security coordination, in addition to various issues of common interest.

The commanders of the military regions in Selibaby Mauritania, Kayes Mali, and Tambacounda Senegal, respectively: Colonel Mohamedou Ould Jaafar, Colonel Salem Konaré, and Colonel Boubacar Toro, gave detailed presentations on the factors of border control and friendly and brotherly coordination between the three countries, as well as the relations of close security cooperation in its manifestations, treaties, clauses and legal arsenal, Its positive repercussions on the establishment of security and calm along the borders, in addition to a set of important proposals and recommendations on further strengthening the bonds of cooperation in this regard.
