Mauritania Participates in High-Level Conference on Africa-Europe Trade Relations

On 10 January, Mauritania, represented by Ms. Aissata Lam, the Director-General of the Agency for the Promotion of Investments in Mauritania (APIM), participated, via videoconference, at the invitation of Mr. Franck Riester, French Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade and Economic Attractiveness, at the international conference entitled: “EU - Africa trade relations: toward new partnerships."

The topics discussed during the meeting included economic and regional integration, African Continental Free Trade Area, sustainable development, and prospects for trade and investment relations between the EU and the African countries.

APIM Director-General intervened at the round table moderated by Mr. Lionel Zinsou, the former Prime Minister of Benin, and discussed the potential and prospects of trade and investment relations between the European Union and African countries in the sub-Saharan zone, particularly Mauritania.
The conference aims at preparing the next summit of the EU - AU heads of state, due to be held on 18 February.
