President of Republic Receives Written Message From Gambian Counterpart

On 9 November, His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, received a written message from his Gambian counterpart, Mr. Adama Barrow.
Mr. Mamadou Tangara, the Gambian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Special Envoy of the Gambian President, delivered the message during the audience granted to him by His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, at the Presidential Palace in Nouakchott.

Soon after the meeting, the Gambian Minister of Foreign Affairs affirmed to have delivered to His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, a message of fraternity and solidarity from his Gambian counterpart. He affirmed the availability to work together, hand in hand, to strengthen the Banjul-Nouakchott axis.

He said that the meeting had been an opportunity for him to convey the sincere thanks of President Adama Barrow to the President of the Republic for the support that Mauritania gives to the Gambian citizens, who are, unfortunately, trying to migrate to Europe by sea. He also hailed the efforts of the Mauritanian authorities, who spare no effort to rescue the drowning victims.

The meeting was attended by the Minister of Justice, Mr. Mohamed Mahmoud Ould Cheikh Abdullah Ould Boya, the Director of the Cabinet of the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ahmed Ould Mohamed Lemine, and HE Mr. Mamadou Jawara, Ambassador of The Gambia to Mauritania.
