Interior Minister Conveys to Algerian President Greetings of President of Republic

Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, the Minister of Interior and Decentralization, has conveyed the greetings of the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, to his brother and friend, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, President of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria.

That took place during an audience that the Algerian President granted to the Minister of Interior and Decentralization on 8 November in Algiers.

After the meeting, the Minister made a statement to the Algerian media saying that the Algerian President requested him, in return, to convey his greetings to the President of the Republic.


President Tebboune highlighted the great interest that his country attaches to the development and strengthening of cooperation relations between the two countries' bilateral relations. He explained that the two countries are working to promote in all areas, as reflected in the agenda of the first meeting of the Mauritanian-Algerian commission in charge of borders, which met today in Algeria.

Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug added that Mauritanian-Algerian relations are old and deeply rooted, nourished by ties of blood, history, and geography.

It should be noted that the Minister chaired, Monday morning in Algiers, with his Algerian counterpart, Mr. Kamel Beldjoud, Minister of the Interior, Territorial Communities, and Town Planning, the first meeting of the commission in charge of the border between the two countries.
