Dialogue Between PAAGGW Environment Ministers, Financial, Technical Partners

Mr. Ousman Mamadou Kane, the Minister of Economic Affairs and Promotion of Productive Sectors, and Ms. Mariem Bekaye, the Minister of Environment and Sustainable Development, supervised the launch of the work of the dialogue of environment ministers of the Pan-African Agency of the Great Green Wall (PAAGGW) area with technical and financial partners.

The Minister of the Environment specified in her opening speech that holding this dialogue is of great importance in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals at the national, regional, and international levels.

She added that at the last meeting of the Board of Directors of the Great Green Wall, on 29 July 2021 in Nouakchott, a ten-year investment plan (2021-2030) amounting to 17 billion dollars was adopted.

For his part, Mr. Abdoullah Dia, the PAAGGW Executive Secretary, stressed that the goal of the Great Green Wall is to achieve a common interest and ensure security and development adapted to the local communities and the Sahel ecosystem.
