The President of the Republic meets with our ambassadors to brotherly and friendly countries
Nouakchott, 28 July 2020 (AMI) - The President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazwani held, on 28 July at the Presidential Palace in Nouakchott, a meeting with the newly accredited ambassadors to some brotherly and friendly countries. At the end of the meeting, the President of the Republic gave each diplomat the letters of credence accrediting them to the Heads of State concerned.
During the meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad, Mr. Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed defined, on behalf of the President of the Republic and by virtue of the powers vested in him by the constitution, and in accordance with Decree No. 391-2019 which sets the powers of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Mauritanians abroad and governs the central administration of his department and in application of the provisions of the Vienna Convention of 1961 on diplomatic relations, the missions assigned to the ambassador.
The meeting was attended by the director of cabinet of the President of the Republic, Mohamed Ahmed Ould Mohamed Lemine and officials of the Ministry.
The newly accredited ambassadors are:
Sidi Ould Mohamed Laghdaf, the United Nations;
Mohamed Ahmed Salem Mohamed Raré, the United Arab Emirates;
Ahmed Dy Mohamed Radhi, the Syrian Arab Republic;
Amédi Camara, Federal Republic of Nigeria;
Khadijetou M’Bareck Fall, Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia;
Sidiya Ould El Hadj, the United Kingdom;
Sidi Ould El Ghadhi, the Republic of Congo.
