Nouakchott,  10/10/2021
On 9 October, a mission from the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development examined with Emirati businessmen the possibilities of investing in the production of eco-friendly coal, from commonly local plants known as "Yor".

The meeting took place at the Mauritanian stand at the Dubai Expo 2020 exhibition as part of the week of the fair dedicated to climate and biological diversity.

During this meeting, the Mauritanian mission briefed Emirati investors on the country's industrial and traditional experience as well as the stages in the production of eco-friendly coal, which is an alternative to that which is unauthorized and dangerous for the environment.

The Mauritanian side highlighted the ideal geographical position of the port of N'Diago, which will be set up as a development hub and investment attraction area thanks to its exceptional characteristics, especially in ecological terms.

At the end of the meeting, the two sides agreed on the need to maintain contacts and exchange reports and documents to further enrich past experiences.
