Prime Minister Chairs Meeting of Inter-Ministerial Committee on COVID-19 Pandemic

The Prime Minister, Mr. Mohamed Ould Bilal, chaired, Friday in Nouakchott, a meeting of the inter-ministerial committee responsible for monitoring the COVID-19 pandemic.
The agenda of the meeting included two points: new developments in the pandemic situation in the country and the study of the implementation report of the Special Fund for Social Solidarity and the Fight against the Coronavirus.

Regarding the first point, the committee noted with satisfaction the stability of the health situation and the continuation of vaccination operations in all corners of the country.

As part of the government's continued efforts to build the capacities of our hospitals, the committee decided on a plan for the acquisition, assembly, and operation of two central units to produce oxygen for the benefit of the hospitals of Nema and from Nouadhibou.

It also called for the need to intensify awareness-raising operations and continued compliance with preventive measures to deal with this pandemic that the world remains unable to stop.

As for the second point, the committee extensively discussed the content of the report, which covers two months of the management of the special fund for social solidarity and the fight against the Coronavirus and adopted it. It decided to submit it to the national commission for monitoring the execution of the Social Solidarity Fund and the fight against the Coronavirus, in accordance with the provisions of Decree 2020-66 on 4 May 2020.
